What are your thoughts on teen romance novels?

I think it's silly to suggest that teenagers know anything about love. But, I want to hear everyone's thoughts.What are your thoughts on teen romance novels?
Honestly,I'm a teenager myself and I think teen romance novels are more focused on infatuation. Or maybe lust. Like Twilight or example,it's not really true love,it's PURE lust since Bella only like Edward for his looks and not personality. I'm gonna be honest here,I think that teen romance novels are rarely done right.
And I think it's foolish to suggest that teenagers don't know anything about love. One of my friends was fourteen when she began dating, and five years later, she's engaged and still with the same guy--she's slated to marry this August. I began dating my fiance two years ago, and two years later, I'm engaged to him. My mother married at nineteen, and twenty-some odd years later, she's still with the same man.



In any case, any romance novel is silly, in my opinion. Even adult ones. They present unrealistic views of love, as if there are no problems, and they all end happily ever after. It sickens me.



You shouldn't judge teenage love if you haven't experienced deep, deep love as a teenager yourself. Those who assume teenagers don't know anything about love are the ones who have never truly experienced it. My mother will tell you that what you say is crap.What are your thoughts on teen romance novels?
Some teen romances are silly. Some suggest that a teen will meet and fall in love with someone and that is the person they will get married too and blah blah blah. I believe that some teens know what love is. They just don't know what TRUE love is. However, some of the novels are realistic. Forever by Judy Bloom tells the story of a 17 year old girl who falls in love with a guy the same age. But they grow apart. This is more realistic in my opinion.
They drive me mad. One reason is the one you stated.

Another is that often times they're horridly written and shallow.

So many teenagers, mostly girls, waste their brains on them when they could be reading actual literature which offers them soo much more.

Like that's ever going to happen.

I find they to be very cliche and unrealistic! I haven't read a really good teen "romance" story. Plus they're not my favorite.
