What are some good historical fiction/romance novels for high school girls?

I'm looking for books similar to Ann Rinaldi's "Time Enough for Drum" or Patricia Clapp's "Constance." Books that have a good historical setting and a love interest of some sort, perhaps one in a medieval setting? Or colonial settings, Revolutionary War era, Civil War era, etc.

Thanks! What are some good historical fiction/romance novels for high school girls?
I recommend Nathaniel Philbrick's remarkable "Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0143111鈥?/a>
It is everything you'd hope a history book to be. "Mayflower" is a story of New England
- arrival of first Pilgrims and Puritans, establishment of united colonies of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Plymouth in XVII century. As usual.. these relations were very complex and tragic inmany instances: nastiness, hatred, treachery, sufferings, slavery dirty business, very little cooperation and understanding, cruelty, war and massacres..nothing that we would not expect from humans.
"Gone with the Wind" is a romancey kind of book set in the Civil War, from a Confederate perspective. It's really amazing writing; don't get freaked out by the fact that it's 1039 pages. It is both very historically interesting and exciting plus there's all the romance. Some of the stuff is hard to read because all the protagonists have slaves and things like that, which is awful, but it's a really powerful work of fiction. Janette Oke wrote several historical series about women "out west". Some of the series titles: "Love comes softly", "Women of the west", "Canadian west". It seems to me that there is also a series about the Civil War right next to Oke on the library shelf, can't think of the name. It "might" be Oke, but am not sure.
Catherine coulter's song series is great and also her viking series. The song series is set in the crusades era and its about knights. The viking series is obviously set in the viking era. It is adult but i'm in high school and really love it.What are some good historical fiction/romance novels for high school girls?
Ride the Wind, Lucia St. Clair Robson
