Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell.....my all time favorite!
Old classic - The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Emmuska Orczy



More modern - If You Come Softly by Jaqueline Woodson (this is a young adult book, so it's short and quite easy to read. I was pretty touched by it)



and HANDS DOWN "Written on the Body" by Jeannette Winterson is not only a lovely romance story, but one of my favorite books of all time. and if you try that, and like it, check out "Gut Symmetries" by her as well. Her main point of focus for a lot of her books is human interaction/relationships.
