I love the classics.
Charlotte Bronte - "Jane Eyre" (assuming you haven't already read it), "Villette" (definitely not as good as "JE", but still worthwhile)
Anne Bronte - "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall" (not as romantic as other Bronte books, but I love it)
Thomas Hardy - "Far from the Madding Crowd", "Tess of the d'Urbervilles", "The Return of the Native", "Two on a Tower" (Hardy was pretty prolific, and most of his romances are tragedies)
Elizabeth Gaskell - "Wives and Daughters", "Mary Barton" (a bit melodramatic), "North and South" (the romance is a little back-seat)
E. M. Forster - "A Room with a View" (rather Austenesque, light-hearted and short)
Daphne du Maurier - "Rebecca" (especially if you like the gothic romances)
the time travelers wife is so romantic( though at first the title pushed me away from the book once i read a summary of the book i had to read it)
the note book is such a cute story!
Thomas Hardy - "Tess of the d'Urbervilles i cried soooo much with this book, its great for hopeless romantics because you hope and hope and it really puts you thru an emotional ride. i love love this book!
E. M. Forster - "A Room with a View" is a sweet story too.
