I am a big romance novel reader. I love reading so much. I like getting lost in another world, where anything can happen. do you read romance novels, and if so why? and what are your favorite kind. I like mine with a lot of drama. like a little action. Like maybe the generic bad guy, kidnaps heroine, and she gets rescued by the hero. lol. I like a lot of different plot lines, but this one never gets old. What Do You Like Most About Romance Novels?
I like reading historical romances. I like both Old West and 19th century England. My favorite romance writers are Linda Lael Miller and Julia Quinn. I like getting lost in another time, kinda like what you said. I like these two authors in particular because they are really funny. I actually find myself laughing aloud. I'm not into romances that are too sappy. Romances are just fun and lighthearted. When I don't feel like reading a book that is too heavy, I'll pick one up.
As a writer I've read most genres. I stopped reading modern romance novels in the 1970s. I didn't need to read graphic descriptions of physical affection between lovers nor descriptions of men's axillary hair or body hair in general. I enjoyed Phyllis Whitney's style of romance novels. She spun romance and mystery within most of her novels. It made for engaging reading. Her romance was more emotionally focused. She never wrote about hot and sweaty passion...groping and fondling. Many readers enjoy that steamy literary style. I'm not one of those readers. What Do You Like Most About Romance Novels?
Even though I'm a writer, and I should be reading, I don't. My sole focus when I'm home is to think and let my creative mind wander. I find it too time consuming to read.
Otherwise, when I'm not in a writing mood, I love to read. I absolutely love romance novels; I'm a teen so I guess you could call me "swoony". I just love pretending I'm the chick in the story, because face it- most of the guys in romance stories are someone you could totally fall for. You're right... You gut soaked up in a completely different world and you almost don't want to leave.
My favorite is so cliche. It's the "forbidden love".
Even though it's not a book, the Titanic film is a very good example. Twilight, even. How Bella/Rose wants Edward/Jack even though realistically they can't have them.
:) Have a good day!
To be honest with you, romance novels never appeal to me. This is just a personal opinion, of course, but I find them sickening. I'm twenty-years-old and I stopped dating women after high school when I found out that I'm much better off without a companion by my side. I'd much rather be able to make my own decisions and do what I like without someone else interfering. I get uncomfortable when I think about lovers, loving, love, etc.
So... I don't read romance. A little in a novel is fine, but if there's too much of it, I feel overwhelmed. What Do You Like Most About Romance Novels?
I like that mad feeling of young love where you want love but you know so little about it and yet you are willing to do almost any crazy thing for love; love makes you do nutty stuff. You don't know it's nutty at the time, but a few days later, yeah, that was nutty! And when young love is set in a historical romance it just makes it like the same thing has been going on for years and years. I guess, to answer the question, I like young love in historical romance best.
Hi,
Sorry, I'm not a huge fan of (pure) romance novels. I need something else besides a guy and girl falling all over each other, something bigger than themselves. I haven't found a romance novel like that and stopped trying years ago. To each his own.

Romance novels are an escape into a world where there is love and it will endure. Two people who aren't perfect manage to get through craziness to find a lasting love.
There is a romance novel called Prince Joe. I recommend it.
i just love the whole falling in love.
i love the ones that have a love triangle,
a cheating scene,
and just the ones where
they are in so much love and
when your reading tears are rolling down!
