Why are bookstores not required to censor romance novels?

I'm doing a research project on the censorship of books. The main subject of my paper is children being able to buy romance novels though they are explicit. Does anyone know of any place where I can get information about this? Why are bookstores not required to censor romance novels?
If I were a mother (which I am not) I would not allow my child to go into a book shop with money, pick up a random romance book and buy it. Most children are accompanied in book shops. And so what if teenagers pick them up? They have to learn someday. Why are bookstores not required to censor romance novels?
romance novels are the least worry. kids have the internet. there's no reason censoring romance novels (that i doubt kids are going to make a huge initiative to go out and spend 9 bucks on on their own) when they could just search vagina on google. Why are bookstores not required to censor romance novels?
i don't know, but when cencuring something from a book.. it kinda hurts the writer's feelings. also the sex and/or love scenes are most important in romance novels... why should they be cencured??

maybe there's just something like an age limit so kids can't buy the book?

edit

i agree with rosey... books are not too good source of... how should i say it? andyway, they ccan watch all the Po*n they want online free. O_O
