How do you feel about gay romance novels?

Do you get offended by gay or lesbian romance novels that are written by straight people for other straight people or do feel that is movement that will help gay and lesbian relationships become more openly accepted in society.

Such authors are Kate Steele and Cameron Dane

The ones I've read from straight authors feel fake, if that makes any sense at all. I don't get offended or anything, it's just that the ones I've read don't feel realistic. The ones about gay men that are written by straight women put the men into the "THIS IS THE MAN" and "THIS IS THE WOMAN" roles which I don't like and which I feel negatively portray male, homosexual relationships. I wouldn't say they do more harm than good though. How do you feel about gay romance novels?
Why should it be treated any differently than a romance novel based on a straight couple?

The only major difference is Mark won't love Wendy, He'll love Frank. It doesn't take away the fact it may be a very good book.

Doesn't offend me at all, I didn't even consider the fact it could be offensive. How do you feel about gay romance novels?
