Try books by Sharon Shinn more specifically The Twelve Houses novels. Perfect mix of Fantasy and Romance.

Try aslo: Crown Duel by Sherwoord Smith. A favorite of mine.

Also: Star of the Morning: A Novel of the Nine Kingdoms by Lynn Kurland. The protagonist in it is funny and tough and the romance is perfect for her. Unfortunately, the heroine seems to lose her spine in later books (it had to be said).

Sci-Fi and Romance? Try the Acorna series by Anne Mccaffrey and Margaret Ball.
It's short (a novelette), but I think Tin Soldier by Joan D. Vinge is well worth a read and a great example of romantic Sci Fi. I didn't want it to be over when I first read it. You can find it in Eyes of Amber and Other Stories - a collection of Vinge's short work. Tin Soldier was also published in Love 3000, a collection of stories that were specifically about romance in science fiction. A few of them were a bit goofy, but I thought it still had a fairly good yield. Edited by Martin H. Greenberg %26amp; Charles G. Waugh. It's out of print, but you should still be able to find used copies on Amazon. Are there any science fiction, Fantasy romance novels out there?
