Romance novels were a woman disguises herself as a man for some reason?

I don't mind if their bodice rippers or whatever.

I like the historical types and probably military types as well, but i haven't read very many so whatever you suggest is fine.

Preferably ones that has both the male and female point of view. Oh, and have an actual story.Romance novels were a woman disguises herself as a man for some reason?

"Pope Joan" by Donna Woolfolk Cross-- In the early Medieval period, a girl takes the identity of her dead brother and advances through the Church hierarchy - the only means of social mobility and education available to anybody at the time - to become Pope. Based on a persistent historical legend. There is some romance in it.Romance novels were a woman disguises herself as a man for some reason?

She's the man is also what I thought of first (if you haven't seen it you should) but since it is based off of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, you could read that.
I don't know about books but I know a film, thats called she's the man, you could see if it is a book?
